A short campaigning documentary I made to put pressure on the UK government to regulate the payday loan industry more effectively.
A labour of love, this film took me 3 years to make with the help of some very good old friends (the crew) and very generous new ones (Kickstarter supporters). It had its UK premiere on January 18th 2014 at the London Short Film Festival. I hope to show it elsewhere. A warm, funny story about an eccentric comic-book loving duo attempting to put together the UKs first international self-publishing festival. But it isn’t just about comics. It is about knowing ourselves, having passions for their own sake and doing something with them in a world that makes it tough to create time for the things we love.
Shot 4:3 for a retro feel, I made this short documentary for the UK charity Contact The Elderly. It earned this testimonial from Lady Jasmine Cavendish: "This short film captures the essence of the charity beautifully and highlights the profound and life enhancing difference one Sunday afternoon tea party a month can make to the lives of such people." I made this doc-style viral for Jeff Norton's (www.jeffnorton.com and @thejeffnorton) book-series which won a 2013 Rotherham Children's Book Award (Upper Category). It's a cinematic read - designed to appeal to reluctant readers and modern kids who grow up on a diet of TV, movies and video games. Have a look at some of Jeff's films (he writes, produces and directs): https://vimeo.com/jeffnorton
